Itinerary for Religious tour Dwarka- Nageshwar- Somnath

Travel : Nearest airport from Dwarka is Jamnagar, from where flights for Mumbai can be taken.

Dwarka is a station on the Ahmedabad-Okha broad-gauge railway line, about 137 km from Jamnagar, 217 km from Rajkot and 378 km from Ahmedabad.

Somnath Travel :By Road: Somnath is well connected by road via Veraval. Other diatances: Bhavnagar 266 kms, Junagadh 80 kms, Chowad 26 kms, Porbandar 122 kms, Ahmedabad 400 kms and Bombay 889 kms.

By Rail: The nearest railway station is at Veraval at a distance of 7 Kms and is well connected with Ahmedabad.

Dwarka tour by Train from Mumbai .

Day 1 : Mumbai

Departure by Saurashtra Express at 8:25 pm.

Day 2 : Dwarka

Arrival at 4:25 pm. Check in Hotel and Relax. Late Evening darshan at the temple.

Day 3 : Dwarka

Have early morning darshan at Dwarkadish Temple. The darshan timings are 6:00 am. to 12:00 noon. Proceed to Beyt Dwarka and Rukmini Temple and Nageshwar Temple.

Day 4 : Dwarka - Somnath

Early morning proceed to Somnath from Dwarka 240 kms, 5 hours drive. Have darshan at Somnath Temple. Also visit Bakhla Tirth, Triveni Tirth, Surya Mandir and Ahilya Mandir. Overnight stay at Somnath.

Day 5 : Mumbai

Early morning have darshan at Somnath temple and visit DIU and Veraval beach. Proceed to Rajkot from Veraval which is 70 kms, board Saurashtra Mail from Rajkot at 5.00 pm or take flight from Keshod which is 60 kms from Somnath.Tour concludes.

Rukmini Devi Temple

This small temple, 1.5km north of town, is an architectural masterpiece. Rukmini is the most important of Krishna's 16,108 wives. The temple walls are decorated with beautiful paintings depicting her pastimes with Krishna.

Gomati Ghat Temples

Gomati, the descended Ganges, meets the sea at Chakra-tirtha Ghat. To take bath where the Gomati meets the ocean is said to offer liberation

Nageshwar Mahadev Temple

Dwarka is sanctified as the place where Lord Vishnu slew the demon Shankhasura. The Puranas mention the 12 Jyotirlingas or columns of light representing Lord Shiva which manifested in different parts of the country. One of these is located in Dwarka and is known as the Nageshwar Mahadev.

BET DWARKA

Offshore from Okha, the island of Bet Dwarka is associated with Lord Krishna. The main temple here, built in the 19th century, has several shrines and images of Lord Krishna and his 56 consorts.

Day Three : Proceed to Somnath 6 hrs drive , reach by evening check in to Hotel .

Bhalka Tirth

The spot where Lord Krishna was mistaken for a deer and struck by a arrow hile sleeping in a deerskin. It is said Lord Krishna was cremated at Dehotsarga at Triveni Ghat.

PRABHAS PATAN MUSEUM

The museum houses art treasures of various periods from Somnath. Holy waters of different rivers, 5 domes, inscriptions, pillars, 12th century toranas, 11th century stone apsaras and statues of lord Agni, lord Vishnu, Uma Maheshwara, Natraj Bhairava and Parwati.

TRIVENI TIRTH

A river is holy in Hinduism, and the meeting place of 3 rivers-Hiran, Kapil and mythical Saraswati-with the Arabian sea, is triply important. The Triveni tirth is an important place of pilgrimage, specially to immerse ashes and pray for dear departed.

SURYA MANDIR

The Sun temple of Prabhas Patan, dates from the time of the Solanki Rajput dynasty in Gujarat. Like the Sun temples of Modhera, Ghumli and Kera, it has a sabha mandap, sanctum sanctoruim and intricate carvings.

AHILYA MANDIR

This creamy colour domed temple was commissioned by the famous queen, Ahliyabhai Holkar of Malwa.

VERAVAL BEACH

4 kms from Somnath, Veraval has a picturesque fishing harbour,

Chorwad Beach

25 kms from somnath, one of the finest beaches of Gujarat.

Day Five proceed to Jamnagar Airport for morning flight.
