Nainital is located in the Himalayan foothills of Uttaranchal. Which was discovered by Lord Barron, a Britisher in 1841. Nainital is surrounded by mountains on three sides.The first one is Naina , the second is Deopatha and the third is Ayarpatha . Naina is the highest mountain among the three.

Located at the foothills of the Kumaon Mountains, Naukuchiatal is perhaps the most picturesque lake in Uttarakhand, surrounded by green slopes and oak forests. At an altitude of 1,219 m and just 24 km from Nainital, Naukuchiatal or the 'nine-cornered lake' is fed by an underwater spring. It is believed by the locals that whoever sees all the nine corners of the lake at one shot, attains Nirvana.

Ranikhet Hill Station or "Queen's Meadow" is a mesmerizing place falling under the state of Uttaranchal, and located at the height of 1829 m with a sprawling are of 21.76 Sq. Kms. As the story goes, Queen Padmini of Kumaon was desperately in love with this splendid hill paradise, and to oblige the aspirations of his queen, King Sudhardev made a palace built here, and named it Ranikhet or Queen's field.

Almora is located in the Kumaon region of the state of Uttarakhand in northern India.Almora is one of the three hill districts of Kumaon. The other two being Nainital and Pithoragarh. It is the cultural capital of Kumaon. Almora is situated on a three-mile long horse saddle-shaped ridge and is surrounded by four hill ranges - Banari Devi, Kasar Devi, Shayahi Devi and Katarnal. The three peaks have temples of Goddesses while Katarnal has an ancient Sun temple worth visiting.

Kausani is located 53 km North of Almora. Kausani a picturesque hill station famous for its scenic splendor and its spectacular 300 km-wide panoramic view of the Himalayas. Kausani lies on the atop the ridge admist dense Pine trees overlooking Someshwar valley on one side and Garur and Baijnath Katyuri valley on the other on Almora-Bageshwar-Didihat Highway.
