Legend Of Haripad Subramaniya Temple

Haripad Sree Subrmaniya Swami Temple which is known as the South Palani(Thekkan Palani) is enriched with the existence of the almighty Velayudha Swami who is a devouter, merciful, protector is there to save all the devotees at Haripad. Pullamvazhi Namboothiri,Kizhakkulam Potti,Chengarapalli Potti,Kaipallil Moothathu(Puthiyil Moothathu),Thazhur Potti,Ambakkattu Nayanmar,Madasseri Variyar,they were the Landlords(Nattupramanimar) before the existence of the temple.During their periods Haripad was known as Eakachakra.The Subramaniya Temple which was in their power is the Keezhtyar Kovil Temple which we can see now near to the temple. Discovery of Idol(Vigraha Labdhi) The four-handed idol(Chathurbahu) which had been used by Parashuram for poojas,was deposited in water after Kerala's origin which was discovered in Kandanalloor in Govindamuttom Backwaters(Kayal).This happened because all the landlords at the sametime got the information regarding the existence of idol in their dreams.Following that , landlords together with the people came to that place and found the idol at the place where formed Whirlpool and Pooja flowers and took that idol to a ferry near by(Nallupura kadavu).
