Festivals Celebrated In Ayappa Temple

The important festivals celebrated in this Temple Complex are:

Panguni Utram Vishu, Guruvayoor Ekadasi, Bharani ( Kodungallor).

Prathishta day and Utsavam (26th May to 31st May every year).

Bhagavati Seva throughout the month of Karkitakom.

Ganesh Chathurthi, Ashtamirohini, Navaratri Pooja.Vidyarambham.

Mandalam 1st day, Thiruvathira, Makara Vilakku, thaipooyam with Kavadi Attom , Chottanikara Makom, Ram Navami, Sivaratri, Akhanda Nama Yajnam on 1st Sunday of every month.

Sampoorna Narayaneeyam is also conducted on every first Sunday of Malayalam Calendar month.

Mandala Pooja celebrations 8 days from 3rd Saturday to 4th Saturday of December. During 8 days of Mandala Pooja Celebrations and Prathishta day and Utsavam period, the temple conducts Bhagavatha Sapthaham, narayanyam Sapthaham, Bhagavad Gita discources and/or Devi Bhagavatha Navaham etc. Hundreds of people participate in these Sat Sangas. Annadanam (Mass feeding) is arranged during these occasions and thousands of people participate in these meals irrespective of caste, creed, religion or status. On the concluding day of Mandala Pooja celebrations, huge procession is taken out with Thalappoli, Panchavadyam, Udukku Pattu, Bhajans etc. Ayyappa Vilakku is the concluding item in Mandala Pooja Celebrations.

Thaipooyam is celebrated with a grand procession and Kavadi Attom.
